Why do people come to coaching? Some of my clients want to change their lives and get more peace of mind, security, and confidence. Others want less – less confusion, less stress or less financial pressure. Either way, my clients want some change in their lives and come to coaching to learn to be more effective, balanced and accountable. Coaching can help you: Set goals and create a life purpose: get clarity on what you want, why you want it and how you’re going to get it. Identify your career goals, your strengths and skillset, gain clarity on your role and future direction. Feel more ready to return to work after having children, redundancy or a career break etc. Create and navigate change, e.g. moving country, starting University, life after divorce or bereavement etc. Build positive habits and improve your overall health and wellness. Clarify what balance means to you and how you can achieve work/life balance. Develop a positive and accepting relationship with yourself by working on your confidence and self-esteem. Live a happier, more fulfilled future.

Does coaching work?It sure does! In a study completed by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), from those who had received coaching… 80% improved their self-confidence. 73% improved their relationships. 72% improved their communication skills. 70% improved work performance. 67% improved their work-life balance. And thanks to the advancement of research in neuroscience, psychology (specifically positive psychology), counselling and behavioural economics, coaching is moving from strength to strength. We are gaining more and more evidence that what we do as coaches works. One thing to note is that the success of sessions is also dependent on you. Before starting the coaching journey you need to ask yourself whether you are motivated and ready to put the time, effort and energy into the process so you achieve positive sustainable change. *ICF Global Coaching Client Study was commissioned by the ICF but conducted independently by PricewaterhouseCoopers.

How do I know if you’re the right coach for me?You’ll find that most coaches offer a free session / opportunity for a conversation to see if you can get on and work well together. It’s essential that you feel comfortable with your coach, trust them and like their approach. Go with your gut.

What’s the minimum commitment?Coaching is a process, and change is often gradual. After all, you’re learning new thinking patterns, embedding new habits and creating strategies for action – this takes a little time. By asking for a minimum commitment of six sessions, you’ll be able to integrate what you’re learning into your life to support sustainable change.

Do I need a coach or a counsellor?Coaching is future-based and focused on finding a solution and next steps. As a coach, I assume you have the answers inside you, and I ask you questions to help you find them. Counselling is past based, looks at what happened to create the problem you’re experiencing and then work on fixing or healing it. Both are great, and can be used simultaneously, but each have a different purpose and focus.
